On Tuesday, November 26, 2019 various stakeholders of the Renewable Energy (RE) Sector in Liberia met for the Integrated Forum for Renewable Energy in Liberia (IFREL), this month held atGIZ/EnDev office. In two smaller focus discussion groups, participants reflected on and discussed core problems of the Renewable Energy sector in Liberia, and how they might be addressed.
On November 13 and 15, 2019, Ministry of Health (MoH) and GIZ/EnDev collaborated towards paving a way for monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of solar systems in all health facilities in Liberia. Solar technicians from GIZ/EnDev trained engineers from the MoH infrastructure unit and bio- medical technicians from the ministry of health hand – on.

I. We, the Ministers of Energy, Parliamentarians and Civil Society Organizations working on energy, have gathered at the Raddison Blu, Mammy Yoko Hotel in Freetown, Sierra Leone for the first ever Mono River Union Multi-Stakeholder Conference on Renewable Energy and Clean Cooking from the to 19 November 2019.
On 30 October 2019, GIZ/EnDev awarded certificates and prizes to five retailers for the sales of renewable energy products (Pico PV solar lamps and improved cook stove), during the sale outreach in Gbarnga, Bong county and Ganta, Nimba County in December 2018. Mercy Corps, the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency (RREA) and other renewable energy actors had also been involved in the sales outreach and were also present at the ceremony.
